MicroModal

Fabric Origins: Bangladesh

MicroModal is a viscose fabric made from renewable wood sources. Similar to cotton and silk, but easier to care for, it has a unique softness and comfort.
The lightweight, breathable fabric also absorbs moisture – perfect to wear close to the skin.

We choose to use MicroModal because it’s the latest improvement of the rayon fabric, responsibly created in Europe from the cellulose of beech trees. Like bamboo, beech trees are low-impact sources which are easily regenerated.

MicroModal is a sustainable alternative to silk, conventionally created by silkworms forming their cocoons in captivity. It’s an energy and water-intensive production that causes serious environmental issues, while harming the animals and the workers – often children.
Made in a closed loop system using the latest environmentally-friendly technology, MicroModal is incredibly resistant and durable. The fabric can be worn repeatedly for a long time without losing its shape or softness.
