This February, we're celebrating self-love and love for the people around us. For our new Wardrobe Essentials campaign, we've asked five women from different backgrounds with strong values for positive change to sit in front of the camera and talk to us about their work and ethics.
Jessica is an African feminist activist, writer, poet, speaker and technical advisor on women’s rights, fighting against gendered injustices and finding ways to prevent violence before it even happens. She’s a founding member of the African Feminist Forum and has worked for two decades with activist organisations to build feminist freedoms and futures.
“Most of what I do is support the scaffolding, the nourishing, the Earth of feminist activism.”
What did you like about the Ninety Percent pieces you wore and why?
The cotton is of amazing quality. As you know I'm an activist so the fact that it's a brand with an ethical vision also really matters.
Which one was your favourite and why?
The wide flare trousers because you can dress them up or down and they really fit my curves!
What are the essential pieces you always wear and why?
I'm a huge accessories fan so block colours with clean lines are a perfect combination.
How would you define your fashion uniform?
Comfortable, expressive, adventurous. I love mixing angles and drape.
